Erik Roesink Honored with AMTA 2024 Hall of Fame Award for Advancing Clean Water Solutions
Erik Roesink's, founder and Chief Technology Officer of NX Filtration, tireless dedication to enhancing clean and affordable water access for all has earned him the prestigious AMTA 2024 Hall of Fame Award. In light of mounting climate change and escalating water challenges, Erik's commitment to innovative solutions with reduced chemical and energy footprints stands as a beacon of hope.
Throughout his esteemed career, Erik has been a trailblazer in the field of membrane technology, particularly in the development of hollow fiber PES membranes for microfiltration, ultrafiltration, and nanofiltration applications worldwide. His journey began in 1985 at X-flow in the Netherlands, where he played a pivotal role in revolutionizing membrane technology.
As a distinguished Professor at the University of Enschede, Erik continued his groundbreaking work, focusing on hollow fiber membranes with Nanofiltration characteristics. His vision was clear – to introduce a new membrane technology capable of addressing global water challenges, particularly micropollutants, while minimizing energy and chemical footprints.
The culmination of Erik's efforts led to the founding of NX Filtration in 2016, marking a significant milestone in the industry. Since then, NX Filtration has emerged as a leader in providing sustainable solutions for drinking water and wastewater reuse applications worldwide.
NX Filtration's HFNF membranes, spearheaded by Erik's innovative research, have demonstrated unparalleled effectiveness in removing micropollutants such as pesticides, hormones, PFAS, pharmaceuticals, and color, along with bacteria and viruses. Notably, these achievements have been realized with significantly reduced energy consumption and chemical dosing compared to traditional UF/RO membrane combinations.
Looking ahead, we are excited to witness the continued impact of Erik's passion and expertise in membrane technology on our journey towards a cleaner, healthier future for all.
