NX Filtration achieves major milestone with securing largest order in its history

NX Filtration has secured its largest order to date, having been selected to supply its Hollow Fiber Nanofiltration (HFNF) technology to the new Minnesgärde drinking water treatment plant in Östersund, Sweden. This will be the world’s largest HFNF-based drinking water plant and marks a landmark breakthrough for advanced water treatment in Europe. The order, secured through a consortium led by OEM partner Purac, is a validation of NX Filtration’s strategy to accelerate commercial growth by partnering with established system integrators in each of its regional markets.
Östersund Municipality has awarded NCC Group to construct the new water treatment facility adjacent to the existing Minnesgärde waterworks in central Sweden. The new facility will meet future requirements for safe, reliable, and climate resilient drinking water production with a capacity to supply approximately 55,000 people.
The construction of the membrane treatment system has been awarded to a consortium led by Purac, together with NX Filtration, Jotem and Wilbers. The project includes multiple advanced treatment barriers and state of the art process technologies, including NX Filtration’s advanced HFNF membrane technology.
A key advantage of NX Filtration’s HFNF technology within the project is its ability to operate without the continuous addition of flocculants, coagulants, or other chemicals during operation. This supports a simplified and low carbon footprint treatment process focused on operational stability, reduced complexity, and long-term plant reliability.
